Warhammer 40k League Season 2

When:

  • 7-Week Regular Season: February 1-March 17
  • 4-Week Playoffs: March 18- April 15

Who: Gamers in Orange County

What: 2,000 points of Warhammer 40k. Your primary army must be selected prior to the start of the season, using the ITC guidelines. We will be playing the new ITC missions as a default. If you AND your opponent want to play a different point amount, or different mission you are welcome to do so. Both opponents have to be in agreement, otherwise the default is a new ITC mission (randomly determined) and 2,000 points.

Where: Games can be played anywhere. Comic Quest has open gaming on Monday and Tuesday nights. Please make suitable arrangements with your opponents.

How it Works:

  • Open play - you can play against anyone in the league. You can only play against each player one time, with the exception of tournament games. If you get matched up against someone randomly in a tournament game who you've already played (or plan to play), the tournament game will count towards your standings.
  • Standings will be determined by number of wins, followed by number of games played up to a maximum of 6. After 6 games, Winning % is used to separate standings. For example: Jordan has a 5-1 record, Brian has a 5-0 record, and Frank has a 5-2 record. All 3 players have 5 wins, so we go to the primary tiebreaker of games played. Brian only has 5 games played, so he gets ranked 3rd. Jordan and Frank both have 6 or more games played, so they are tied on primary, and must go to the secondary tiebreaker of winning %. Jordan has a winning % of 83%, while Frank has a winning % of 71%. As such, Jordan would be ranked 1st, Frank would be ranked 2nd and Brian would be ranked 3rd.

Playoffs: This season we will have a top-8 playoff bracket, and a consolation (9-16) bracket.

Awards and ITC Points: You can earn ITC points by participating in the league. There will be awards for the League Champion, as well as players choice awards for Favorite Opponent and Best Painted.

  • Players will have the option to use rules from "Chapter Approved" with the exception of new points values (we don't want a situation where players have to change their army list the morning of the event).
